New Year’s Resolutions for 2014

I started my list of resolutions two weeks ago. Would you believe me if I said I already got a head start? I mean, what kind of a nancy boy waits until 2014? Not this girl.

  1. Complete Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University
  2. Become a certified first responder
  3. Choose a fun exercise to do weekly (tennis, biking, walking, Couch-to-5K, yoga)
  4. Start a journal
  5. Read classic books
  6. Get a new wardrobe
  7. Finish writing novel
  8. Launch The Curiouser Newsletter
  9. Go to the Smithsonian Museums
  10. Start a savings fund
  11. Launch the iPhone story app with the group

I started watching Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University DVDs and am already on DVD 3, I’ll have you know. I even started a savings fund this week. Dave would be so proud.

After the tornadoes hit Moore, Oklahoma this year, I decided to become a first responder. I had to sit in my house when they called for them. I wasn’t certified to go out there and help. That killed me. Well, this coming year, that’s changing. I got in touch with a lady at the OKC Fire Department, and she gave me some excellent information on how to get started.

I started writing in a journal again for the first time since college. It felt awkward at first, but I’m growing to love it all over again. The final PDF for The Curiouser Newsletter will be finished today and up by the first of the year. The iPhone story app is making serious progress, and I’m elated at how far we’ve come in such a short amount of time.

I have pamphlets on how to plan my visit to the Smithsonian Museums, most of which are overwhelming. Apparently, a week is barely enough time to see it all.

My novel is stuck in a rut, but that’s only because I’m lacking information on legal matters. I must find a wise lawyer (ha!) and get the information I need. I’ve been reading classic books for quite a while now, but hey, why not shove it on my list?

As far as exercise, the elliptical will have to do until the weather warms up. And a new wardrobe? Why, I’ve already cleaned out my closet to make room for new clothes.

What are your resolutions? Do you have a list yet? Is there anything exciting on it?
