WBBT: Tag! You're It.

The amazing Alice tagged me last week to take part in the World Book Blog Tour. Alice is a ridiculously talented ghostwriter, editor, and author. Eleven of her books are bestsellers! I look up to her and seek her advice often. If you're looking to completely wow your readers, go ask Alice. (I couldn't help it, and I'm not sorry.)

What am I working on?

I am editing a book entitled Making Sense of the Jigsaw Puzzle; editing social media for Arete Imagine (run to them if you seek help with upping your web presence); working on web content for the incredible Michael Anderson from Executive Joy; and writing web content for A1 Surety Bonds with lots of one-time projects in between.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I edit mostly for first-time authors, and I think editors try to seek out the popular authors sometimes. I'd rather have the first-time authors because I love to help them grow. Plus, it's so exciting to talk to someone who just wrote his first book. Their happiness is seriously contagious.

Why do I write what I do?

On my side of the writing world, I write a lot of marketing materials and web content. I grew up in a furniture salesman's home, so it really rubbed off on me. I love crafting new phrases to convince a customer to buy.

How does my writing process work?

The first step before beginning my job is to find a cup of coffee and put on some headphones. Noise helps me concentrate. Positive reactions from the customers are always very important to me, so I stay connected with them through the process and send them many revisions if necessary. I always want to keep the author's unique voice, so communication is a must during this process. Also, I almost never get to work without my little dog in my lap.

Next stop on the World Blog Book Tour?

I would love to see Alissa from the Illiterate Author, Marisa from Wear Your Vitamins, and Ralph from his self-titled blog answer these fun questions and tag me back next week.
